Groats are an all-time favourite old school particle, one similar to hemp seed for the pulling power it provides, these work really well. Groats soak up flavour and carp love feeding on the bait carpet they produce.
To prepare put in a pan, cover with water and bring to the boil, once boiled and cooled they are ready to use. Alternatively you can use lake or river water and soak them overnight at the lakeside, how handy is that!
